Sophron Research is a research organization dedicated to designing and distributing evaluations and benchmarks that improve the epistemic character of AI systems.
Through the design and public release of benchmarks targeting capabilities most useful for wise decision-making, Sophron Research aims to incentivize the development of AI systems that reason validly, calibrate their uncertainty, and reliably help users arrive at true beliefs. By publicly measuring how frontier models perform on these epistemic benchmarks — and by probing for misaligned lab behaviors such as user manipulation and engagement maximization — Sophron supports high-stakes decision-makers, broadens access to reliable reasoning tools, and helps defend the epistemic commons against the commercial pressures shaping today’s AI.
